Attachment parenting is a term used to describe a broad range of parenting practices and philosophies that centre around empathetic and respectful responses to the child's needs. Some examples include "baby-wearing", breastfeeding, co-sleeping, non-punative approaches to unfavourable behaviours (or "positive discipline"), sensitivity to the child's emotions and a general valuing and respecting of the child's opinions, desires and needs as an individual.

Attachment Parenting challenges us as parents to treat our children with kindness, respect and dignity, and to model in our interactions with them the way we'd like them to interact with others" (
